The Cotton Story

The Cotton Story

We’re delighted to welcome this forward-looking company and their beautiful products to 55 King’s Road.

The Cotton Story’s founder, Leo Mellis, has ensured that everyone involved in the creation of their products plays an important role, and it is these relationships which mean they can focus on creating beautiful items at a fair price and of the highest quality.

Honest pricing. Beautiful products. Ethical factories. Sounds like a good choice.

Cotton Story use Supima cotton – hand-picked in California (strong and soft – the perfect t-shirt material!) – and state-of-the-art technology to ensure as little impact on the environment as possible.

The cotton heads to family-run factories in Portugal that are leading in the quest for sustainable fashion – they recycle all plastic, cardboard, metals and even oil, as well as re-using their offcuts for cleaning or selling them on for other products. All packaging is made of recycled materials and clothing made in small baths to reduce overproduction.

In line with government guidelines, our shops and restaurants remain open only for essential retail, virtual shopping appointments, takeaway food and click and collect services.

But our Christmas lights are sparkling, the Fine Food market will continue to take place on Duke of York Square’s running track each Saturday (with full safety measures in place) and many of our restaurants will deliver their delicious food to the comfort of your home. Pavilion Road, a stone’s throw away, also remains open and pedestrianised to make your food shopping more pleasurable.
